Scorch Series Romance Thriller Book 4
Dante Luciano is a genius gamer with autism who's made millions in computers and lives in a carefully constructed world in the Hollywood Hills when the chaos of the pandemic Scorch Flu breaks out. Charged by his brother JT with bringing gorgeous actress Melody Parker to the family's secure survival facility in Idaho, Dante is challenged by feelings he thought he was immune to.
Melody Parker uses her beauty, people skills, and bubbly personality to hide a vulnerable heart. She's never met a man like Dante, with the face of an angel, the body of Adonis, and the mind of Spock.
Can Melody and Dante overcome their deepest fears, deadly foes, their own limitations to love–and survive the road to the Haven?
***Sensitivity warning: this story contains rape themes***
Dante and Melody from the start are adorable and make it very easy for a reader to bond with them. Dante, in particular, is a complex character. He has autism, and Toby Neal (who has worked with adults with autism) does an excellent job trying to illustrate how he thinks, feels and experiences life, and many things that most take for granted. To place him in the romance hunk role, and to do it well, is awesome.
Melody herself is exceptionally understanding and a survivor. Watching them fall in love was sweet. Their hardships are devastating-
it took me a bit longer than normal to finish, because it was so emotionally wrenching. Their journey through those and the healing after shows how strong they are and together.
Also worth noting, April is Autism Awareness month. This book will release the beginning of April, which is very fitting.
